Winter Park-based developer secures entitled community with 85 home sites in Lake County Growth Corridor, has acquired 539 Lake County lots plus Apartment Site in the past three years
LEESBURG, Fla. — The Winter Park–based Henin Group has closed on the purchase of a 60-acre residential development site known as Silver Lake Woods in Leesburg from Oetjen Family Ltd, a Florida Limited Partnership.
Permits have been obtained for development of 85 single-family home sites across 28.6 acres, with an additional 27 acres preserved as greenbelt and wetlands. The Maitland civil engineering firm Civil Design Solutions prepared the comprehensive site plan, which includes lots measuring 50’ x 130’, 60’ x 130’, and 70’ x 150’. Several homesites are located on cul-de-sacs, while others feature nature and water views.
Jerome Henin, president of The Henin Group, said they are currently in the bidding process for horizontal construction — including roads, utilities, and grading.
“Some production homebuilders have expressed interest in Silver Lake Woods, and we are deciding whether to select one or have our own Henin Homes begin the vertical construction this spring,” Henin said. “These sites are ideal for homes ranging from 1,500 to more than 2,500 square feet, with three to five bedrooms and two to three bathrooms, priced from the high-$300,000s to the mid-$400,000s.”
Silver Lake Woods is bordered by Jackson Road and Radio Road on the east side of Silver Lake, with the community entrance located off Radio Road. The site is approximately 25 minutes from downtown Leesburg and is surrounded by active residential growth.
Nearby developments include The Henin Group’s Treasure Trove, a 110-lot single-family community located less than a quarter-mile away, as well as neighboring projects currently underway by Maronda Homes, Richmond American and Stanley Martin Homes.
Henin has purchased and developed 539 residential lots in Lake County – plus a Tavares apartment site – within the past three years, underscoring the firm’s long-term commitment to the region.
“Lake County is one of the most attractive places to develop in Central Florida,” Henin said. “You have natural beauty, outdoor recreation, attainable housing prices, and improving infrastructure that makes it easier for residents to connect to employment centers throughout the region. It’s a combination that’s very hard to beat.”
